On a gloriously Sunny Sunday 27th May 2012, a Family Fun Day took place at the Andover Rugby Football Club’s Goodship Ground. Amongst the various acts and performers were the St Johns Irish Dancers who accompanied us, the Southern Jacobites Pipe Band. The Pipe band played a traditional Irish Tune called the “Rakes of Mallow” which features on the John Wayne film called “The Quiet Man”; whilst this was played the Dancers performed the “Baby Reel”. We then performed other Scottish and Irish melodies as well as the theme from “Last of the Mohicans”

Well we are pleased to announce that we will be doing our bit for the Diamond Jubilee!

On Tuesday 5th June, we will be joining the Salisbury City Band of the Royal British Legion and the Southampton Concert Wind Band, creating a massed band. Naturally we are all extremely looking forward to it. Music will include many coronation tunes plus Glendaruel Highlanders, Black Bear, Scotland the Brave and many more!

It would be great to see you there, so please log on to the Salisbury City Hall website and book your tickets now!

Hey there!

Thanks to a very kind gesture, we are now the proud owners of new Hunting Robertson Modern kilts! Due to some kind donations, we not only all have the same kilts but have white bovine sporrans and burgundy silk ties to go with them!

Now to the future; do we have burgundy hackles or not to go with our new and kindly donated Tara brooch cap badges? Have you noticed our burgundy theme yet?!

We can't thank the people that support us enough, as without them we wouldn't be in the position that we are now

Well, over the last six months, we've been discussing what uniform to choose for the band. Thankfully all decisions have been unanimous! Our main concern was what tartan to pick, as there are so many to choose from. Once that had been decided, we felt it would then be easier to pick the other items of uniform. We settled on the Modern Hunting Robertson tartan; a nice green and blue tartan, with complimenting red, white and black.

After that had been decided, the decision about bag covers and cords was simple. Thanks to the money we raised at our Ceilidh in November 2010 and from the few events that we did last year, all members now have a navy blue, corduroy pipe bag, with a burgundy trim, accompanied by burgundy cords.

Hopefully in the coming year we will be able to buy Lovat Green Piper's Hose and burgundy flashes for all members of the band. So watch out for our fundraisers
